Radhika: The Performer
Radhika is a distinguished Bharatanatyam dancer whose journey spans over two decades of dedicated training, performance, and artistic exploration. Her early foundation was firmly established under the mentorship of Mrs. Anjali Gokhale-Bhatavdekar in Pune, where she completed her Arangetram and earned the esteemed title of Nritya Visharad. This grounding in the traditional grammar of Bharatanatyam laid the path for a deeper engagement with the art form.
For the past eight years, Radhika has honed her craft under the expert guidance of renowned dancer-choreographer Vaibhav Arekar. As a senior disciple and core performer with his acclaimed dance company, Sankhya, from 2016 to 2023, she immersed herself in rigorous training and participated in the creation and performance of critically lauded choreographic works. This phase of her journey also saw her attaining a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam, further deepening her theoretical and practical command of the form.
A recipient of the prestigious CCRT scholarship from the Government of India for young artists, Radhika has performed at some of the most respected cultural platforms and festivals across the country. Her artistry is marked by both technical precision and emotional depth, enabling her to connect with audiences across varied contexts.
Beyond the classical stage, Radhika has demonstrated remarkable versatility. Her commercial work includes notable appearances in advertisements and OTT productions for global events and brands such as Dubai Expo 2020, Reliance Jio, and Sony LIV. Her dynamic presence and adaptability have made her a sought-after performer in both artistic and commercial spheres.
Radhika’s international engagements have positioned her as a cultural ambassador for Indian classical dance. She has represented India at the Festival Indii in Poland for four consecutive years, the Discover India festival in the United States, and at the Indian Embassy in Berlin through ICCR’s prestigious dance presentation. These opportunities have enabled her to share the richness of Bharatanatyam with diverse global audiences.
Her choreographic ventures, such as Roots and Routes and The Song of Life, have been received with critical acclaim, especially during tours in the United States. These original works reflect Radhika’s evolving voice as an artist—one that is rooted in tradition yet responsive to contemporary themes and audiences.
Through her performances, Radhika continues to embody the spirit of a committed practitioner—graceful, grounded, and ever-evolving.
