Teacher

With over a decade of teaching experience in both India and the USA, Radhika is deeply passionate about nurturing the next generation of dancers. Currently based in San Diego, she serves as a faculty member at the Abinaya Arts Academy, founded by Aler Krishnan. Here, she works closely with young students, introducing them to the joy and discipline of Indian classical dance. Her focus on building a strong foundation enables even the youngest learners to connect meaningfully with the art form.

Radhika’s teaching philosophy has been shaped by her diverse experiences. She has assisted her mentor, Vaibhav Arekar, in numerous workshops across India and the United States, honing her skills in guiding intermediate and advanced-level students with clarity, sensitivity, and precision.

Her commitment to arts education extends beyond the studio. In India, she was actively involved in outreach initiatives like Parichay by Baithak Foundation, where she introduced Bharatanatyam to school children, and Vistaar by NCPA, where she conducted a dance appreciation workshop for students from Mumbai’s municipal schools. She also presented a lecture-demonstration on the perception and critique of Indian classical dance for journalism students of Ranade Institute, curated by renowned theatre mentor Dr. Ajay Joshi in Pune.

Through her thoughtful approach to teaching, Radhika continues to build a vibrant community of young dancers and arts enthusiasts, fostering appreciation and excellence in Indian classical dance, one student at a time.
